Rajasthan literally, “Land of Kings” is India’s largest state located on the western side of the country. Most of the area comprises of the wide and inhospitable Thar Desert. Major attractions of the state include the ruins of the Indus Valley Civilisation at Kalibanga; the Dilwara Temples, a Jain pilgrimage site at Rajasthan’s only hill station, Mount Abu. Rajasthan is also noted for its national parks and wildlife sanctuaries and is home to three national tiger reserves. Four of its famous national parks and wildlife sanctuaries: Keoladeo National Park (a World Heritage Site known for its bird life), Sariska Tiger Reserve, Ranthambore National Park, and the Desert National Park.
